Art Display

Drop by the Bridgenorth Library during open hours, and enjoy paintings by different artists each month. 

January Artist: Ella Verner – Women of 911

Shedding light on incredible women first responders whose stories are often untold. This body of work celebrates women throughout history and around the world who have paved the way for future generations of first responders.  Including firefighters, paramedics, police officers, army medics, search and rescue, and dispatchers.

Thank you for your interest in displaying artwork at the Bridgenorth Library. Submissions are closed for 2025, the 2026 call for entry will open in September 2025.

Bridgenorth Book Club

The Bridgenorth Book Club meets on the second Monday of the month at 10:00 a.m. The Bridgenorth Book Club is currently full, but take a look at their Book List.

Ennismore Book Club

The Ennismore Book Club meets monthly on Monday mornings at 11:00 a.m. Take a look at their Book List.

Community Anthology Project

Do you have a story to tell? We want to hear it. 

The Selwyn Public Library is launching an exciting new project to collect and celebrate the unique voices of our community. Whether you’re an experienced writer or just starting out, this is your chance to be published in our Community Anthology. We're looking for short stories, poems, essays and other creative writings that have not yet been published elsewhere. Get published, contribute to a project that reflects the diversity and creativity of our community, and connect with fellow writers!

Home Library Delivery

The Selwyn Public Library and Community Care Chemung are offering Home Library Service. This service provides delivery of library materials to homebound persons residing in Bridgenorth and Ennismore.

The Selwyn Public Library has materials for all ages to learn more about Indigenous history, including the Indian Residential School experience, and the ongoing Truth & Reconciliation process.

Lakefield Publishing Club

Selwyn Library is launching a new club with the goal of publishing a community anthology, highlighting our local writers, poets and storytellers. Members of publishing club will work behind the scenes on the creative direction of the published work, reviewing story submissions, and connecting with other local book lovers and storytellers. Members are able to submit their stories for consideration along with all other library patrons. Meetings will be held monthly from September 2024 to March 2025.

Needlework Group

The Needlework Group with the Makerspace is a place and time to gather, work on independent projects, socialize, and support each other.

Knitting, crochet, and cross-stich welcome. No formal teaching is being provided.

Needlework Group will run:

First Tuesday of the month 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. (drop-in)

First Wednesday of the month 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (drop-in)

Take a Seed, Leave a Seed @ Ennismore Library

Stop by Ennismore Library to pick up some seeds and resources to help you start growing your garden this spring! If you have extra seeds to share, leave them in a sealed and labelled envelope for others to enjoy. This program is offered in partnership with the Ennismore Garden Club to encourage community members to grown their own food and flowers, promote healthy eating and increase awareness of self-sustaining gardens.
