Computers

The Library provides access to computers that are equipped with Internet resources, programs & databases for informational and educational purposes.  All users of the Library's computer resources are expected to adhere to our Internet policies.

Internet/Wi-Fi

If you want to connect your own device, free open Wi-Fi is available at each location 24/7. Network name is Public Library. No password is required. 

Genealogical Resources and Local History
Resources are available to assist you in your genealogical and historical research. We are also pleased to offer Ancestry Library Edition on the public computers available in our branches.

Home Library Service
The Selwyn Public Library and Community Care Chemung offer a service called Home Library Service. This service provides delivery of library materials to homebound persons residing in Bridgenorth and Ennismore. For more information please contact Sarah Jones, the Ennismore librarian, at 705 292 8022.

Interlibrary Loan

Selwyn Public Library offers inter-library loan at all three locations.

Photocopying & Faxing

Photocopy service is available at all three branches.  Copies are 20 cents per side.

 

Fax service is available at all three library branches and is completed by staff.

Sending

  • Local: $1.00 per page, $5.00 flat rate for 5-9 pages, 50 cents per page for 10+ pages

  • Long distance/US: $2.00 first page, $1.00 each additional page

Reciprocal Borrowing
We have a formal arrangement with The County of Haliburton Public Library, The Trent Lakes Public Library Board, and The City of Kawartha Lakes. Residents of Selwyn may obtain a library card without charge at these libraries.

Readers' Advisory 

You are invited to email staff to access the library's reference services. Questions can include, but are not limited to: 

  • Author read-a-likes
  • Book read-a-likes
  • Next book in a series
  • Book release dates
  • Library information (hours, locations, services, etc.)
  • Library programs
  • How to use the catalogue 

Email accounts are generally monitored Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We will do our best to respond to emails within 24 business hours. Emails received on weekends and holidays will be returned within 24 hours of the next business day.
