SPL Makerspace is seeking volunteers. A number of days/shifts available. A variety of tasks available. For more information, email Heidi or call 705 651-8601.

SPL Makerspace is accepting volunteers for our "Crafting for a Cause" team. This team will work on quarterly projects coordinated by the SPL Makerspace and a local organization/group. At the end of each quarter products will be donated. Interested? Email Heidi 

Ennismore Library is currently seeking Saturday and on-call volunteers. Bridgenorth Library and Lakefield Library are currently accepting volunteer applications for a variety of days/shifts. Please contact each branch for more information.

We are delighted that you are interested in volunteering with us.  We  have many different tasks in the library, Makerspace, and New-to-You stores. We ask you to print out and complete an application form (see below) and submit it to the place you wish to volunteer.  Prior to final acceptance, all applicants must provide  an original Criminal Records Check.

Makerspace Positions 

 

SPL Makerspace is looking for a full team of volunteers as we move towards opening our Makerspace. A variety of jobs are available. 

 

  • Create fun and useful products
  • teach others how to use a particular machine
  • assist with workshops 
  • General administrative duties

SPL Makershop Volunteers

 

The SPL Makershop is the perfect volunteer opportunity for those who love crafting and supporting the library. 

With the SPL Makershop, volunteers will make items that will be sold in the makerspace to raise fundraising dollars for the library & makerspace. All materials and supplies provided.

Fundraising (New-to-You stores, Book Sales, etc.)  

Book Sales

Volunteers are need for our book sales. Some of the duties include: sorting, display, day-of support, and clean-up. To volunteer at a book sale, please contact the branch librarian.

The Causeway Treasure Trove 

Sells gift ware as well as good quality clothing and is located on Ward Street next door to the OPP office. Proceeds from this site are  divided equally with Community Care Chemung.

The Thrift Shop 

Located in the former Ennismore Municipal Building in the Ennismore Recreation Complex where good quality used clothing is sold.  Proceeds from this site are divided equally with Community Care Chemung.

Youth Volunteers

Youth who have completed grade 8 can accumulate volunteer hours by helping our children's summer program coordinator run the TD Summer Reading Club. The program runs from July to the end of August.
