Skating

Our public skating is open to all ages and abilities. Get active with friends and family and try a public skate today!

Check out our local hockey and figure skating clubs if you'd like to join a league or take lessons and improve your skills.

Selwyn Township is looking for sponsors for our 2024-2025 Public Skating season. This is a great way to help promote youth recreation in our community and encourage the community to come together and be active. Complete the sponsorship form here.

Public Skating Schedule

Public Programs at the Lakefield-Smith Community Centre and the Ennismore Community Centre will begin starting September 30th, 2024. 

Public Skating

Our drop-in public skating program is a leisurely skate for all ages. This is a great way to spend time with family and friends while being active.

Entry fee for public skating is $3.00 per person, unless the event is sponsored by one of our amazing local businesses!

Ennismore Community Centre

Public Skating in Ennismore will take place Sundays from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.

Parent & Tot Skating

Our drop-in Parent & Tot Skate offers a slower paced leisurely skate, which provides a safe environment. This is a great way to introduce your child to skating. Parent & Tot Skating begins September 30th, 2024, and runs through to March 25th, 2025.

Senior Skating

Our drop-in Senior Skate offers a slower paced leisurely skate for those aged 55+ and is a great way to stay active in the cooler months. Seniors Skating begins September 30th, 2024, and runs through to March 28th, 2025.

Youth Shinny

Drop-in youth shinny hockey is a great way to play a game of pick-up hockey with friends and family. You are required to wear full equipment during shinny hockey and adult supervision is required.

Every PA Day and snow day at the Ennismore Community Centre.
Cost: $6 per person. Non-contact. Full hockey equipment mandatory. Parental/guardian supervision required while your child is at the Arena.

  • 9:00AM to 10:00AM: Players aged 8 and under
  • 10:00AM to 11:00AM: Players ages 9 to 11
  • 11:00AM to 12 Noon: Players aged 12 and older
