I.T. Support Specialist

The Township is seeking an I.T. Support Specialist who will support the installation, configuration and maintenance of new and existing I.T. infrastructure including servers, local area network (LAN), operating systems, database(s), desktops, laptops, software, hardware and peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, electronic signs, audio visual equipment, VOIP phone systems and mobile/smartphones.

The ideal candidate will have successful completion of a two (2) year post-secondary education program in Computer Science or related discipline and a minimum of two (2) years related experience. Previous Municipal experience would be considered an asset. This person will be expected to be a self-starter with the ability to work independently carrying out the duties of the position. The person must possess excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

We are looking for an enthusiastic IT generalist who has a broad set of technical skills.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Group Policy, Intune and Multi-Factor Authentication. Experience with SQL Server would be considered an asset. Thorough knowledge of industry best practices, guidelines, benchmarks, safety policies, procedures and applicable laws relating to information technology is required. Candidates must hold a current valid Class G Ontario Driver’s License and personal vehicle to travel to various Township facilities.

The present salary range for this position is $37.16 - $45.22 per hour based on a 35-hour work week.

Grounds Maintenance Attendant (Seasonal)

The Township is seeking applicants for the position of Grounds Maintenance Attendant – Seasonal, to maintain parks and designated Township properties as directed by the Recreation Facilities Supervisor.

The ideal applicant will have a can-do attitude and a focus on safety while maintaining the Township properties, including: grass cutting, tree trimming, edging and litter pick up. You will be expected to assist with festival and event set up and clean up. You must be flexible, adaptable and possess the demonstrated ability to work independently and exhibit excellent teamwork and cooperation skills. Good written and verbal communication skills are required.

Candidates will be required to demonstrate superior interpersonal skills and must act professionally in providing service to the public and as a representative of the municipality. 

The 2025 rate of pay for this position is $16.44/hour (Student under 18 years of age rate) / $17.46/hour (General rate) based on a 35-hour work week. The position may require the individual to be available for weekend and evening work.

Lakefield Marina Dock Attendant (Seasonal)

The Township of Selwyn is seeking applications for the seasonal position of Lakefield Marina Dock Attendant, to assist with the daily operations and maintenance of the Lakefield Marina.

The ideal candidate will have at a minimum one year’s experience in a primarily customer service role. Candidates must have the proven ability to handle cash, debit, and credit card payments. Good swimming skills are required. Candidates with lifesaving training and/or certification and current CPR and/or First Aid certification will be preferred. Candidates may be required to obtain a Food Safety Training Certificate if they haven’t already successfully completed a course.

Applicants with knowledge of the Trent-Severn Waterway and the boating/marina industry will be preferred. The individual will be expected to work as a member of a small team, while using initiative and good judgment in carrying out the duties of the position. The person must demonstrate initiative and possess excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.

The person requires superior interpersonal skills and customer focus and must act professionally in providing service to the public and as a representative of the municipality. 

The 2025 pay range for this position is $18.15/hour to $19.63/hour and the typical work week will be between 24–35 hours. This position will require candidates to be available for weekend and day & evening shifts throughout the season starting early May through mid-October 2025.

Office Assistant (Summer)

The Township is seeking an Office Assistant – Summer who will, as a member of the Customer Service & Administrative Support Team, provide general clerical support for the Municipal Office and administrative assistance to the Community & Corporate Services/Clerk’s Department and other Department Managers as required.

The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary education or be enrolled in a related post-secondary program with equivalent experience. 

The individual will perform front counter reception duties and provide administrative support to the Manager of Community & Corporate Services/Clerk, C.A.O., and other Department Managers, while using initiative and good judgment in carrying out the duties of the position. The person must be flexible, adaptable and possess excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. A proven ability to manage several projects simultaneously is a must.

The person requires superior interpersonal and customer service skills and must act professionally in providing service to the public and as a representative of the municipality. 

The 2025 hourly wage for this position is $16.20/hour (Student under 18 years of age rate) / $17.20/hour (General rate) based on a 35-hour work week.
