Back to SearchSelwyn Township is encouraging residents, local service clubs and community groups to submit nominations for the Province of Ontario Senior of the Year Award!
Established in 1994, the Senior of the Year Award honours one outstanding local senior in each municipality in Ontario to recognize an outstanding senior who, after age 65, enriches the social, cultural or civic life of the community. The nominee must be:
- At least 65 years of age
- A resident of Ontario
- A living person who has made their community a better place to live
- Nominated by the Township of Selwyn
Seniors who qualify for this award may have contributed to any number of fields such as the arts, literature, community service, volunteering, education, environment, fitness, and humanitarian activities.
Nominations can be submitted to ngennaro@selwyntownship.ca or delivered in person to the Selwyn Township Municipal Office at 1310 Centre Line, Selwyn. Please submit your nomination by 4:30pm on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
Nominations should include:
- Nominator’s name and contact information
- Nominee’s name and contact information
- Details on why the Nominee should be considered for the Ontario Senior of the Year Award for Selwyn Township
Council will consider the nominations received and the nominee selected will be presented with the Ontario Senior of the Year Award in the month of June.
